Great Yarmouth’s Pleasure Beach – Thrills and spills and a high-octane family day out!

23 March 2014

Gt-YarmouthHaving opened in 1909, the Pleasure Beach continues to dominate the skyline of Great Yarmouth’s Golden Mile and provides an outstanding day of pure family fun. The park boasts nine acres of white-knuckle rides such as the Sky-Drop and Mulan, and water attractions such as the Log Flume but it is the pleasure beach’s 82 year old rollercoaster that has remained the main and most popular feature since it originally opened in 1932!

The park also hosts a 4D Cinema which promises a fantastic time for the whole family featuring moving seats, special effect lighting and water sprays, these being a few of the continuous surprises which all add up to a fun filled experience!

The park is situated just under 8 miles away from Broadland Sands and it became one of the UK’s Top 10 Free Entry Amusement Parks in 2013, during which time it played host to over 1.1 million visitors.

Although entry is free, rides are paid for by the purchase of either pay as you ride tokens or the purchase of a wristband. Prices of wristbands do vary and are dependent upon seasonal/concessions available at the time of visiting the park, but typically they will permit unlimited access to 25 rides! Parking at the Pleasure Beach costs £5 but is free with any wristband purchases exceeding £10*.

If you and the family are looking for a break away from the fun of the fair, why not take a short trip over to the Pleasure Beach Gardens? The peaceful gardens are a great location for a picnic or you can grab a hot/cold meal along with snacks and drinks at Sarah’s Tea Rooms.

Once you have recharged your batteries, how’s about a game of 12-hole Adventure Golf – or what about the Segway Grand Prix? For the younger members of the family, there is also the 10-car Junior Driving School.

You and the family couldn’t complete your day without stopping off at the Pleasure Beach’s Rock Shop. Alternatively, why not visit the Ice Cream Parlour and indulge in something sweet?

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is over 100 years old but continues to move with the times, constantly changing and providing fun days out for everybody!
